In the postmodern era, while anthropocentrism appears on the one hand to enable the transcendence of human limitations through the development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and artificial intelligence, on the other hand, it is leading to a situation where the Earth's ecosystem—humanity's sole habitat—is being destroyed, thereby jeopardizing our own survival and existence. In particular, Korean society, having compressed the modernization achieved by the West over 200 years into a short period, is experiencing the extreme consequences and harmful effects of anthropocentrism in various forms more severely than any other society. Therefore, to move beyond anthropocentrism and lead a better life in harmony with all other objects, life forms, humans, and intelligence surrounding us, a practice is required to critically reflect on and deconstruct the culture that has shaped the human present, and to reconstruct it educationally. Based on the aforementioned critical perspective, *Culture and Education* aims to: first, examine the process by which humans have been shaped into their current anthropocentric form from a historical anthropological standpoint grounded in biological foundations, and to understand the importance and significance of the concepts of culture and education for the reflection of this process; second, cultivate the insight to critically address relevant cultural issues and reconstruct them educationally for the communal survival and individual existential growth of Korean society following compressed modernization; and third, as a result, explore directions for educational practice to enable humans to lead survival and existence alongside others, life, and artificial intelligence. In short, the goal is to cultivate the insight and strength to critically reflect on the cultures we experience in our daily lives that hinder our educational growth, and to reconstruct them anew from an educational perspective.
