With the recent enactment of the Character Education Promotion Act, a wide variety of programs are being introduced. However, different theories and scholars present diverse approaches regarding the nature of character education. Currently, we face a situation where we must consider how to organize and apply the various classification systems and concepts presented in different ways. Accordingly, the authors have sought to approach character education from an integrated and positive perspective. Thus, this book adopts an integrated approach to character education alongside personal, interpersonal, academic, and career development, based on the character strengths of positive psychology. Another feature of this book is that each chapter dealing with character strengths presents specific activity programs designed to enhance those strengths. Each chapter is structured to first present the necessity of the corresponding character virtue, followed by a conceptual definition and a summary of theories related to its development, before finally arranging the activity programs.
