Na Byeong-cheol et al.: Theory of Modern Novel (2nd semester of 2026, includes workbook)
The 21st century is a time of stories that is so much more than a story. The novels that have been leading up to the last century to the cultural center, to the fact of life, to be true to criticism and replaying, are increasingly far removed from the public, and are being captured by the media instead of the movies, dramas and cartoons. The change in writing style and the new distributions have brought down the genre's boundaries and the novel is hard to find. The perspective and methods of novel research have been very diverse. It is not easy to find a common analytical framework that can be understood by the various variations of novels. The book reflects this concern and change in the novel genre, but also suggests a method of written analysis that is based on basics. And I hope that we can learn to understand and see the unique nature and the analytics of fiction, to understand the past and present and future of our novel, to make sure that we understand and evaluate the work more deeply.
