Description

Born from the remarkable meeting of economics and psychology, behavioral economics is a powerful business discipline. It overcomes theoretical limitations in traditional economics by analyzing how human behavior changes with cognitive habits, circumstances, and emotions, then applying those insights to business. Global leaders are succeeding by incorporating behavioral economics into their management and marketing: Google’s hiring based on “confirmation bias,” Amazon’s use of the “anchoring effect” to stimulate consumer desire, Netflix’s recommendation system built on “choice architecture,” and Apple’s pricing strategy using the “decoy effect.” Behavioral economics is currently the field business leaders around the world are learning most, and companies as well as public institutions are actively adopting it. It is essential knowledge for businesspeople and a powerful discipline!
