Description

Lycholo Wedachce, 1243-1320, devoted his research on the Koran and Islamic theology during the stay of Baghdad to writing "Contralaim Irínoch" (Licolo de lasagen argument). This is his best work on Islamic perceptions in the Middle Ages, and it provides important historical evidence to judge Islam from the Christian point of view. He has proven Christianity's superiority by the objective and mutual comparison of Islam and Christianity, in direct reading of the original Arabic text of the Koran. Later, Reformer Martin Luther, writing in German, published the work of Ricoldo in 1542 and wrote a separate letter. If the first important European Christian civilization in which the E.K.O. could study medieval Christian-Muslim exchange, the First of the Equivalency of Martin Luther's Commentary on the Koran, which is a very important work of the Reformation, will be seen as a continuous work for the study of Christian-Christian civilizations. The two works have a very important historical and theological significance in that they provide a common basis for critical recognition of both Catholic and Protestant Islam.
