Martin Luther: Luther's Table Talk
Martin Luther's pew-dating speech was first published in 1566, but it was all dismissed by Pope Gregory XIII for the wrath of the Catholic Church. Later, the book was thought to be missing, but it was discovered miraculously in 1626 and sent to England, and at the end of a great lecture, English translation was published in 1646. This is the first time in the country that the book has been completed. There is no book that has ever been so eloquently presented with the talent, disposition and attitude of the great Reformer. The comments of Luther, by Anthony Rutterbach and Johann Auripover, have long been involved in the discussion of Luther's words, his friends and disciples, especially until the end of the reformer. The writers did not leave Luther in their notes, to be comfortable with his friends, to walk, to perform pastoral duties, to talk and to speak as he ate. During the four hundred years that he spent in Gwant's office, he gave German Protestants a position of rank in the Bible. The various contents of the simple style have been very helpful in helping the first generation of Reformation to realize the truths that were important to them and to all later generations. As readers read this book, they will find many of the good, deep and abundant truths that are necessary not only in his day but also in our time.
