I purchased this to study the great scholar Habermas's view of truth. I plan to read it calmly this summer.
The importance of practice that transcends the limitations of idealistic epistemology and begins with critical thinking, thorough self-reflection, and introspection. Doubt even the truth given to me!
Jürgen Habermas: Truth and Justification
Nanam Shinseo *Truth and Justification*. A collection of philosophical essays. This is a work of pure theoretical philosophy published by Habermas approximately 30 years after *Perspectives and Knowledge*, which is considered the starting point of his philosophical thought. Well-known as a social theorist, he is a representative thinker of the second generation of German critical theory, following Horkheimer and Adorno; opposing the anti-Enlightenment critique of reason, he argues that "modernity" is problematic precisely because it is incomplete. Although he originally majored in philosophy, he devoted himself to establishing social theory, writing a series of pure theoretical philosophical essays between 1996 and 1998. He then compiled these essays and released *Truth and Justification*, a book that gives a systematic character through a voluminous introduction. In this book, he begins to address in earnest the problems of naturalism and realism, which he calls pure theoretical philosophical issues. In this book, Habermas discards the concept of truth, which remains trapped within an epistemological framework of thought, and presents yet another concept of truth. This is a pragmatic, non-epistemological concept of truth that links it to the concept of success in practice rather than to an epistemological concept. In any case, this non-epistemological concept of truth enables the maintenance of the possibility of objective truth that transcends justification within local contexts, while avoiding the problems of contextualism and skepticism associated with the linguistic turn, particularly the pragmatic turn.
