Yeojeongseong et al.: Consumer Policy
When a consumer problem arises in the market, the government intervenes in the markets and acts like these signals are consumer policies. When he started his lecture 30 years ago, the level of consumer protection in our country was really bad. Even though Cornell's consumer economics department taught us to have critical insights about consumer protection, what he should have done was argue for the guidance of the legal system for consumer protection and interests. Then came the consumer - cost system, the food - drug safety system, Ricol system, labeling advertising, manufacturing laws, electronic trading protection, conflict control, consumer policy committees, and so forth. Now it is time to worry about the senseless abuse of the important proposition ‘ consumer interests. ’. And it's time to wonder whether the institutions that have been introduced are a burden on society, or should be altered to fit the times and circumstances. Now, it's not just the government that should protect consumers, but it needs a more specific basis for intervention and elaborate approach to ensure consumer choice. The decision about what kind of consumer problems the government will be involved in, and what mechanisms it will use, became especially important. And especially to think about whether the government has to step up to solve that problem. It is my hope that this book will help readers to think about the needs and methods of consumer policy. And I've introduced the consumer policy theories that are needed, hoping to be based on the process of thinking.
