Description

A recipe book by Soyeonnam (‘the man who researches and develops sauces’), whose sauces created flavors ‘every Korean has tasted at least once,’ such as the sauce for so-tteok-so-tteok (sausage-and-rice-cake skewers) and the honey powder in honey-butter snack seasoning. As the author says, ‘A meal can feel more abundant just by changing the sauce.’ With a single easy sauce made from ingredients at home, you can create the ‘indulgent flavor’ of a famous restaurant yourself. That is thanks to the author's 25 years of experience developing sauces and food, distilled into techniques simple enough for anyone to follow. How Sauce Makes the Dish includes detailed nutritional analyses and calorie information for 51 sauces, along with storage methods and how long they can be kept and eaten. So no matter how many years of cooking experience you have or what you are preparing, there's no need to worry. Pick one of the golden sauce recipes Soyeonnam shares, and your table will be more abundant. From versatile sauces for all kinds of dishes, to simple sauces for kids' snacks, to unusual sauces that can transform the table on a special day, follow Soyeonnam's friendly recipes and you'll eventually realize that sauce really makes the dish.

I love that the book is about the size of a cellphone. I love Jammi, who develops sauces and carries it around every day.

I think the hardest part of cooking is the sauce. So I was surprised and fascinated to find a book devoted entirely to sauces. It's no exaggeration to say that sauce completes a dish, and I was glad to find recipes for all kinds of sauces I've enjoyed from stores. I also think measuring ingredients is one of the hardest parts of cooking, so it was helpful that the book explains how to measure commonly used ingredients, making the recipes easy to follow. The book is small and light, so it's easy

If Baek Jong-won is on YouTube, then Soyeonnam is the equivalent in books. There are so many different kinds of dishes. They use a wider variety of ingredients than I expected, including some I never would have guessed without the book, so I think I can make delicious sauces thanks to it! It's an encyclopedia of sauces. I recommend it to everyone who wants to make delicious food. 😍

The ingredients are things you probably already have at home or can easily buy at a nearby grocery store. It boasts that you can make an all-purpose sauce in just ten minutes. I'm very excited to hear that it contains the secrets of Korea's top sauce developer. The book is divided into five parts. I'm especially eager to try the sauce recipes from popular

It tells you which dishes pair well with each sauce and carefully lists the nutrients and calories too. 🍵Two things make this stand out from other cookbooks. The 51 sauces each have a recipe that takes up only about half a page, so they look easy rather than intimidating. When cookbook photos show dishes plated in grand settings, I feel like I could never match them and end up paying more attention to the dishes and cutlery. This book lets me focus entirely on the sauces themselves. The development of the so-tteok-so-tteok sauce made me exclaim, ‘Wow!’ Seongsu-dong is such a hot neighborhood
