Description

Korea achieved high economic growth in just a few decades based on exports. By utilizing production factors in which it held a comparative advantage, the country exported products that varied depending on the time period and benefited from trade. Currently, with the expansion of global trade and the opening of financial markets, opportunities for corporate activities and international investment are increasing, necessitating attention to diverse regions. The regions we focus on include emerging nations that resemble Korea's past and developed nations representing the future. While these entities are interconnected, they also possess distinct characteristics. Since resources, culture, demographic structure, and history differ from country to country or region to region, opportunities and risks coexist when investing or conducting business locally. Because economic conditions vary according to these national characteristics, investment strategies must also differ. Therefore, economic actors are focusing on developing macroeconomic indicators to assess the economic conditions of each country and identifying differences in economic growth. The learning objective of "Global Regional Investment" is to promote an understanding of corporate activities and international investment by introducing the economies, financial markets, cultures, and societies of major regions and countries. This textbook covers the United States, China, India, Islamic countries in the Middle East, and Africa by region. The reasons for selecting these countries and regions are as follows: the United States was chosen to understand the global economy, while China and India were selected for their large populations and high growth rates, which offer us numerous opportunities. Meanwhile, the Islamic region, which provides new investment opportunities for global investors but possesses unique cultures and financial systems, is also an area that we must understand.

Although it is a university textbook, it is a rare, concise and informative resource that provides economic analysis and approaches to the world's G2 and the 주목받는 Third World.
