It is full of beautiful, helpful information about pasta. I knew how to eat it, but not how to cook it, so I love this!
It’s soothing just to look at.
Seon-yo’s Everyday Pasta feels more like a collection of essays than a cookbook. As you read the gentle, conversational writing, you find yourself drawn into Seon-yo’s world. The story in the prologue about Saturday pasta made by the author’s mother shows the love in the family and what motivates Seon-yo. Pasta uses simple ingredients and is easy to make. It is a delicious meal you can quickly put together when you are busy, and its appeal changes dramatically depending on what you add. This
There are lots of different pasta recipes. You can choose what you like and make tomato, cream, oil-based, or cold pasta dishes. I did not know much about pasta shapes or ingredients, but the book introduces a wide variety, so I think I can make something impressive. The recipes are surprisingly simple, so even a beginner cook like me can make them easily. I also liked that each recipe lists its preparation time, so I can choose one that fits my schedule. I made paccheri with ragu sauce and
The book introduces a wide variety of pastas, including tomato-, cream-, and oil-based dishes as well as cold pasta, so I think I could try making many different kinds. It also does a good job explaining pasta shapes and cheeses. Each recipe recommends the pasta shape the author thinks pairs well with the dish, so I expect I could follow the suggestions and make a high-quality pasta meal. Every recipe includes an appetizing photo. The one that caught my eye was rigatoni with roasted green onion
There are an impressive 28 pasta recipes! It introduces lots of interesting ingredients and explains everything in detail, so the recipes are easy to follow. I wanted to try making new kinds of pasta, so I’m starting my challenge to make my way through them all! 😄
This is a great cookbook to read slowly and cook along with. The instructions are written clearly, so I did not have much trouble. I especially liked how well the ingredients section was organized. As I read, I noticed lots of pasta shapes I had never seen before. I look forward to learning about many new and interesting ingredients!
It is thinner than I expected. The instructions are so simple that I’m worried. Can I really make this just by following the book? 😢
I love pasta, so I read this book, and I really like it! I think photos are one of the most important parts of a recipe book like this, and these photos are beautifully soft and inviting. The pictures and recipes make me want to try them right away! The ingredients are explained well, and I love it. I highly recommend it! ❤️
Seon-yo’s new book, Seon-yo’s Everyday Pasta, was published by Semicolon. About the author: Seon-yo. In the prologue, the author says that the tomato pasta her mother made every Saturday when she was in middle school became a deeply cherished memory. Reading this, I found myself agreeing that food memories with that kind of impact can remain a great source of strength even in adulthood. I was especially glad to hear about this book because I make pasta about once a week too. When I make a bowl
Seonyo: Seonyo's Daily Pasta
It offers recipes using an impressive 17 kinds of pasta and 10 kinds of cheese, all of which are easy to find in stores. Pasta is more enjoyable when you choose a shape to suit the sauce and the texture of the ingredients. The book explains the features of the pasta and which sauces and ingredients pair well with each shape, from familiar varieties such as spaghetti, penne, and fusilli to less familiar ones such as bigoli, lumache, trottole, and lisce. Cheese is also essential to pasta because it plays an important role in bringing out its flavor. The book describes the taste and uses of familiar cheeses such as mozzarella; pasta staples such as Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano, and Pecorino Romano; and less familiar options such as Gruyère and blue cheese. It also includes tips for storing cheese so it lasts longer. Do not miss the introduction to 19 essential pasta-cooking products the author settled on after trying many products.
