Description

This picture book about great figures is designed for children who have just mastered Hangeul and are ready to develop independent reading habits. It features text and illustrations perfectly tailored to the level of 6- to 7-year-olds, the age when they are just learning Hangeul and establishing the habit of reading on their own. By looking into the lives of these great figures from their childhood, it is easy for children to relate to and is engaging. Furthermore, it helps them naturally understand figures who lived in different eras and aids in character development through vicarious experiences. Composed of verified figures most respected by Koreans, the "Great Figures in Textbooks to Meet Before School" series consists of five Korean figures and five world figures. What exactly about these great figures is it that makes them respected by so many people to this day and become figures featured in textbooks? You can discover not only anecdotes about their extraordinary qualities from childhood but also fun stories from their early lives that you may not have known before. King Sejong the Great, the brilliant monarch who created Hangeul. People call King Sejong the Great. What is it about him that earned him the title of "Great King" rather than just "Ordinary King"? Prince Chungnyeong (Sejong's childhood title), who was such an avid reader from a young age that he earned the nickname "Bookworm," inherited the throne despite not being born as the eldest son. Even after becoming king, he left behind numerous achievements driven by his love for his people. The Korean alphabet (Hangul) that we use today might not have been created without King Sejong the Great. By closely examining the multifaceted nature of King Sejong the Great, who left behind remarkable accomplishments as a leader of a nation, we can reflect on what constitutes a great leader.

The text and illustrations are balanced, so I thought it would be great for children encountering a biography for the first time. My 8-year-old son is practicing independent reading, and watching him from the side, I found it comfortable for him to read on his own without feeling overwhelmed. Even though it is a biography, the illustrations are so beautiful; I actually enjoyed looking at them. Although we already know that King Sejong the Great created Hangeul, this book allows us to look into

The content of the book is indeed good, but... I ordered a new copy, and there are knife marks on the cover and the stains are so severe that I requested an exchange. I didn't buy it used; I waited a week to receive it. Do you sell products without inspecting them?

My child asked me to buy a biography of a famous person for a post-reading activity at kindergarten. I told my elementary school-aged older brother to read it with me, and he reads it fluently as well. It isn't too difficult, so I think they will enjoy it.

The content is substantial and informative. I bought it to read to a 7-year-old, but it was very helpful for a 14-year-old as well.

My child was reading "100 Great People Who Shone in Korea" and asked why King Sejong wasn't included, saying they wanted to see him, so I bought this as a Children's Day gift. I haven't read it yet, but I'm looking forward to it because the reviews are good.

Published by Darakwon, "Korean Greats from Textbooks to Meet Before School: The Brilliant King Sejong the Great Who Created Hangeul" is a picture book about a great figure that I enjoyed reading with my child! The illustrations are charming, and the content is well-structured and engaging. It tells the story by introducing various achievements one by one, starting from the image of Prince Chungnyeong as a bookworm in his childhood, to King Sejong becoming king despite not being the eldest son,

'King Sejong the Great' A sound heard from inside the palace... King Taejong orders all books to be put away, begging him to stop reading and go out for activities... He is speaking to Prince Chungnyeong... Prince Chungnyeong is Taejong's third son and the figure who would later become King Sejong... 'Why did he tell him to put the books away when he should have been praised for reading?' my son asks... The children say that this is something unimaginable in our house, where we constantly tell

I read a book about King Sejong the Great, one of the figures I respect, from the collection of Korean biographies where you can read the stories of great people. The title of the book is "King Sejong the Great, the Brilliant King Who Created Hangeul!" Isn't that wonderful? Since the Korean biographies I encountered at Darakwon are not available in complete sets like other books, I had to wait for this book to be published. I heard this is the fifth volume. Unlike typical biographical
