I needed to teach students about ESG, so I bought the book and cards as a set. Once I started reading, I realized I had not fully organized my own understanding of ESG concepts, and this book clarified them completely. It feels as if the author knew exactly what I needed. I am especially grateful that I can prepare my lectures for the semester with ease.
I bought this as a reference for ESG education, and it exceeded my expectations. It is easy and fun for me to study. I especially appreciate that it includes an ESG glossary and a separate set of ESG cards at such a reasonable price. The book is in color, so it is easy on the eyes. The quizzes help me check what I do not know, making it useful for both learners and educators. Thank you for writing such a helpful book!
I bought this book because I wondered how the author approached teenagers, having taken on ESG work at a company with a heavy heart. It is more original than I expected. Students should be able to understand ESG easily, and it also seems quite helpful for essay writing.
Lee Su-mi et al.: ESG Self-Directed Learning for Youth
ESG has become an issue of major importance across society—indeed, one directly tied to our survival. It matters especially to teenagers and the MZ generation. This book applies a self-directed learning process to ESG. It guides learners through the material step by step and is designed to spark curiosity and interest. The authors consulted climate-change and ESG research by ESG management experts, often focusing first on books and studies that could lead to immediate action. But the more they considered how to inspire action, the more they concluded that helping people understand the issues properly comes first. The essential motivation for ESG education is accurate knowledge and understanding of the climate crisis, carbon neutrality, and ESG. Young people in particular are changing. According to the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Consumer Perception Survey, 63% of consumers consider a company’s ESG activities when buying products; 70.3% have avoided products from companies with poor ESG practices; and 88.3% said they would pay extra for products from companies with strong ESG performance. This trend is expected to accelerate, and influential ESG consumers will change businesses and society and create new value. Providing young people with accurate knowledge and information effectively is therefore essential to sustained ESG education.
