This book is structured with the goal of providing an in-depth understanding of the foundations of modern poetry theory and issues regarding literary analysis by studying the basic concepts and structural elements that form the basis of modern poetry, as well as fundamental methods of reading poetry. Part 1, titled "The Essence of Poetry," introduces discussions on the definition of poetry, issues of reading, and genre characteristics. Basically, based on the fundamental concepts of poetics and poetics, this book includes the changes in the conditions and modes of existence of modern poetry, as well as the resulting changes in meaning. Thus, as you read through each chapter, you will be able to accurately understand the basic concepts of poetics and gradually grasp how those concepts are applied and utilized in modern poetry and poetics.
