Kim Chang-jin et al.: Seeking the Way to a Northeast Asian Transnational Cooperation and Social Solidarity Economy

The 21st century, the international political situation is facing a serious transition to the structural change in world order. In recent years, the U.S.-centennial suffrages with internal vulnerability and China's fierce challenges have been intensified by economic, military and ideological competition between the two countries. The competition and tension of both countries reflect changes in structural dynamics, so neither one will be willing to yield. But in the two superpowers' global competitions, it would be reasonable to consider time as China's side. The United States has entered a state-of-the-art, global economic and dollar-sharing gap, an inability to solve social problems in extreme political polarization, and a climax and decline as a world empire. China, on the other hand, is rising and expanding its influence in almost every sector, including the economy, the military, the technology, the domestic markets, and international resource acquisition. The global climate crisis, the early climate crisis and the global political situation that has emerged in the Ukrainian war, the cross-viewed view of Russia, leave us with a lot of challenges about how to describe the future of Korea. The international order is a social component of the huge stream of water that changes with major political leaders and intellectuals, even with the imagination and bold initiative of the public. So rather than being frustrated about the darkness of reality or trying to sidetrack it, we need to be able to hold on to another ‘will optimism’ for the future.
