We've used this book since first grade. It's easy for my child to understand and work through independently, so we're going to try the middle-school workbook series too. Highly recommended!
After school, my child consistently works through a few pages at the desk. I explain anything they don't understand, and we study together. It's been a big help. We keep buying the books for each grade and using them.
It repeats the first-semester material once more. The videos help explain things, but my child is too focused on just filling in the answers.
It's clear and refreshing. Seeing the ideas in pictures seems to make my child think, โThis looks easy,โ and feel ready to get started.
๐ I received a complimentary copy through Key Publishing's reviewer program and wrote this review based on my own opinions. ๐ When it comes to kids' math study, do you think โas long as they solve lots of workbook problems, they're setโ? A child may get answers exactly right but stumble when asked, โWhat does this mean?โ Or maybe they struggle as soon as a problem changes a little. That's a red flag ๐จ that their grasp of the concepts needs attention! Let me introduce Illustrated Math
Illustrated Math Concepts for Elementary School, Grade 2 explains math concepts simply through pictures and stories, so children can study without feeling pressured. It uses illustrations to explain addition and subtraction, multiplication, measurement, and time, making it especially helpful for children who find math difficult. Rather than simply repeating problems, it encourages them to think about why an answer works and build a solid grasp of the concepts. The amount of work is manageable
It approaches school math in a very easy and intuitive way. I recommend it for children who need to build their foundations.
Great for getting a head start.
I bought this because my child struggles with math. They don't go to an after-school academy, so it's perfect for us to work on together. There's quite a lot of text, haha, but the amount of work is small, so it doesn't feel overwhelming.
I found this elementary math workbook with illustrations that reflects the new curriculum. Since the second-grade textbooks have changed this year, we need a new workbook too! I like that this one supports independent study. Kids can scan the QR code themselves to watch math lessons and solve problems. My children pay more attention to a teacher than to Mom explaining everything, so this is helpful. Instead of substituting problem-solving for learning concepts, it first makes sure children
