The two storylines keep crossing. As is typical of Murakami’s novels, it includes occult elements. I’m looking forward to volume 2.
Despite its length, it is highly absorbing. It continually introduces intriguing ideas, while the characters’ deeply reflective thoughts seem to invite praise for the author.
The book cover arrived a little damaged, which was a bit upsetting. Kyobo always used to send books in pristine condition… Still, there’s no damage elsewhere, so I’ll just read it.
The descriptions are incredibly detailed and delicate! But the vastness of the language and imagery is a little intimidating… I can’t understand every word, but the characters and story are interesting.
I like Murakami’s novels. I’m looking forward to this book, too.
I was curious because Haruki Murakami himself seems confident about this work, so I bought it. Maybe because the author loves this book, I already feel affection for it before reading. I’m looking forward to it.
I think I first met the boy who resembles a crow when I was in my late teens (my memory is hazy, so it may have been my early twenties). I felt very strongly that I was different before and after reading this book. Unfortunately, the copy I owned back then was thrown away during a move, so I’m planning to buy it again. I’ve read several of Murakami’s books, but this one left me with the most to think about and the most room to breathe. I think I could recommend it to anyone. Enjoy all the
I’m halfway through volume 1, and it’s full of questions—from the boy called Crow to the conversations with the protagonist Kafka, and even the cat? It’s a very puzzling first volume. It is certainly unusual.
What is this supposed to mean? When I read Murakami, my eyes always feel like they’re wobbling, haha. But it’s so entertaining that I can’t put the book down. Murakami is the best.
Haruki Murakami’s first draft!
