“Excellent” is the right word for this book. I have read only about one-seventh of it so far, but I have already learned a tremendous amount. Some passages reveal the author’s feelings about particular people and slightly compromise the book’s impartiality. But considering how many books gain popularity by telling readers only what they want to hear, I can understand it. I’ll write more in my next review.

The Value of Food. Author Choi Nak-eon began studying food again in 2009 because there were so many misunderstandings and prejudices about it. After reading his book Bad Knowledge Is Ruining My Body, he wrote several books. In 2016 he wrote A Rational Way to Think About Food, the forerunner to this book. He studied food engineering. In The Value of Food, Choi Nak-eon writes about the true value of food, focusing on the prejudices and

Several times a day, we may say or hear, “This is good for you; that is harmful.” There is so much information about food that it is hard to know what really matters. We are constantly anxious even though we eat some of the safest food in the world. The book scientifically examines the many myths we encounter about food and helps

The Value of Food reinterprets the value of food in modern society and explores how deeply we think about the way we choose and consume it. The author guides readers toward a more scientific and balanced view while carefully analyzing the quantity and quality of food and its effects on our lives. In particular, the book seeks to ease the excessive anxiety people feel about food safety with the message, “Let go of worries about safety.” Grounded in scientific understanding, this approach can

Isn’t eating one of the most important things in life? Sadness, joy, or gloom can all seem to melt away when we eat, as if nothing had happened. It makes me think that food has a huge effect on our lives. Choi Nak-eon, author of The Value of Food, says he began studying food because there were so many misunderstandings and prejudices about it. I think those misunderstandings are even worse now that social media such as Instagram and TikTok is so widespread. If you want to learn about the
