Benedetto Croce: aesthetics
The great humanist Crosche, the philosopher, the historian, the critic, the literary historian, editor, publisher, politician, ‘all men, ’ ‘all powerful, ’ the ‘the most prominent Italian after Galileis’... For Croche, aesthetics is a study of intuition and it's the basis of mental philosophy. Intuition is not the mysterious ability of some people to have, but that of all humans, and that of the mind to produce. Our first perception of the world, intuition, is a mindless knowledge that comes first in conceptual knowledge. At the same time, intuition is an expression because of the active activity of our mind, and this intuition and expression is the essence of art. Art is a mental activity that reaches its roots to human nature, not just a finite class of symbols. The traditional aesthetics that have not escaped the bias of intellectual superiority have not revealed the true nature of art. The modern world has been able to read about the freedom and creativity that are beyond the power of God in our imagination, and to understand on a philosophical basis that art is a product of that capacity, thanks to Croche's tymeology that hasn't lost its classical status since the beginning of the year.
