Furthermore, through artifacts recreated with rigorous historical research by Zhou Gongxin, former director of the National Palace Museum in Taipei, readers can gain a deep insight into Chinese history and culture. Volume 11, titled "The Law That Kills Itself," tells the story found in Sima Qian's *Records of the Grand Historian*, in which Shang Yang, originally from the State of Wei, gains the trust of Duke Xiao of Qin and establishes new laws. Thanks to the new laws, the Qin state became wealthy and powerful, but the enforcement of the laws was so harsh that resentment was rampant among the people and nobles.
