Yoon Seok-jun: Understanding Public Diplomacy

On July 14, 2004, the government launched a ‘ public diplomatic support network. ’. The country has decided to spend $6 billion on digital diplomacy, which is the cost of digital and public diplomacy. Why is the government so focused on public diplomacy? Traditional diplomacy is a foreign government, but public diplomacy has a fundamental difference in that the foreign people are the target. The goal is to make the foreign people friendly to their country, influencing the decision of foreign policy to fit their interests. Public diplomacy targets indirect or bypassive influences in this sense over traditional diplomacy. This book is part of the project of the Korea International Trade Foundation for Public Foreign Disunity and Development at the University of Public Foreign Affairs, which has been written since the second semester of 2018, by authors from the University in the West. We have designed the 14- river to fit the university course and have filled a richly Korean view of the domestic cases that have been described as problems with public diplomacy. First of all, we've been very selective about our foreign environment and our new public diplomacy that meets our diplomatic goals.
