I loved that it covers the broader culture as well as tango dancing. It has many illustrations, isn't dry, and is so easy to read that I finished it almost too quickly.
I bought one copy, enjoyed it, then bought five more to give to friends who want to learn tango. While reading, I repeatedly wished I'd had it when I first began. It's easy to read and flows smoothly, so I want friends who are interested in tango to read it before starting.
Calling it an encyclopedia of tango is exactly right! The design and readability are great, and it's easy and fun to read. I highly recommend it to anyone curious about tango.
I started right away with Chapter 1 about partners. With every page I wished I'd found this book sooner and felt regret about my past tango life. It contains exactly what I need, so I plan to read it at least ten more times. I'll recommend it first to anyone around me who wants to learn tango. Thank you for making such a good book.
I skimmed the preview and contents. It seems to have more practical material than lists of theory, which interests me. I'm looking forward to it!
This is a very useful collection of everything about tango. I had been waiting for a textbook on tango technique, history, etiquette, music, and more. The two professors' care and effort really shine through.
I've always been interested in tango, so I'm delighted that such a useful book is available. I love being able to explore in depth things no one had ever explained to me!
I liked the detailed explanations of tango history, orchestras, and muscles. The green and pink cover is so pretty, too.
I've been very interested in tango, so I'm glad there's a book about it. The contents look rich, and I'm looking forward to reading it.
This is my third tango beginner class! It helped me deepen my experience of tango after class. I recommend it.
Yang Young-ah et al.: Tango Master
Tango, called the dance of freedom and passion, is presented here as an encyclopedia by professors Young-ah Yang and Dong-jun Kim, who have worked as tango masters in Korea and abroad for 20 years and learned from masters in Buenos Aires. It's a friendly guide for beginners and a resource for professionals seeking creative ideas. Chapters cover fundamentals, practice, etiquette, styles, music, DJing, orchestras, history, curriculum, physicality, and therapy, helping readers understand tango and enjoy dancing. Praise from world-renowned masters reflects the book's insight and depth. The authors' years of intensive lessons with legendary Buenos Aires maestros and vivid anecdotes make their account authoritative and enjoyable. Their lessons are joyful and moving enough to make you lose track of time. Tango can draw you into your own dancing and help you discover your own charm. This encyclopedia is full of rare insights, as if the professors' fascinating lessons had been captured in a book.
