Yang Yong-ui: How to Read the Gospel of Matthew

Thirteen years have passed since the first edition of *How to Read Matthew*, a commentary on the Gospel of Matthew that makes the gospel of Jesus Christ’s Kingdom of God clearer and richer, was published. Both the readers and the author, who have benefited greatly from this book over the years, felt the need for various revisions. Unlike the first edition, which minimized source attribution to suit the target audience, the revised edition cites sources as much as possible, and the personal translation of the text more faithfully reflects the format of the original. Additionally, sections briefly covered in the first edition have been supplemented, and details have been refined to clarify the arguments. While the content of the first edition is largely maintained, the author’s research and teaching experience spanning over a decade since its publication have been incorporated, which will enrich our understanding of the Gospel of Matthew.
