For internal company training, I have been reading and studying from several SQL books, and this time I read Jpub Publishing’s [Practical SQL QuickStart]. It teaches relational databases easily and quickly. The book has three parts. Part 1, ‘SQL Learning Environment,’ shows how to install SQLite for learning SQL and how to use it. It also introduces basic databases and table relationships. Part 2, ‘Writing SQL Statements,’ teaches queries in earnest, starting with query comments and covering
Book review: [Practical SQL QuickStart]. From a front-end developer’s perspective, understanding and using SQL is becoming increasingly important. We need to communicate smoothly with the back end to work effectively with product data, and SQL knowledge is essential for that. In this context, [Practical SQL QuickStart] is a great help to front-end developers who want to learn SQL quickly and practically. [Practical SQL QuickStart] provides a comprehensive understanding of SQL and is aimed at learners of many levels, from beginner to intermediate. It is an especially useful resource for readers who want to study SQL systematically. I was selected for the third cohort of Jpub Publishing’s IT book reviewers and received this book. I had been hoping a book like this would come out. I really want to recommend it to absolute beginners. It is perfectly readable without straining your eyes, the content is not difficult at all, and the detailed supplementary explanations make it easy to absorb the material quickly as you read. When I studied SQL, there was no complete resource like this for beginners, so I learned through
I really want to recommend this book to people just starting out with SQL. I’m a beginner too, but I finished it without Googling anything once. The clean layout seems to be a big part of that. I was most worried about the functions section, but it neatly presents only the basic and commonly used functions in tables, making review easy and comfortable on the eyes. You can learn practical material through concrete examples, so I wholeheartedly recommend it to beginners. 👍 Also, the explanations
I highly recommend this to anyone thinking, ‘I’ve never studied databases before… should I give them a try?’ It seems like the ideal textbook for people who want to start lightly with the basics, rather than aiming to become experts right away. It leaves out difficult specialist terminology and gets straight into practical work, so you can experience the concepts vividly. I recommend it to anyone thinking of preparing for the SQLD certification, too!
I think this is a useful book that offers a practical approach and hands-on opportunities for people starting to learn SQL. I strongly recommend it to readers who want to improve their database management skills, including readers who know absolutely nothing about SQL. 🙂
