Walt Whitman: Whitman's Perspective

The article was written in a book called "Walt Whitman" and it was sung by the American National Poet. Whitman has brought the poet into the prophetic class of the past, declaring that the age of the clergy is past and the age is past. Intrigued by the Amersen's "The Poet" that presents Christ as a completely harmonious image, mind and body, he has developed this myth into his poem theory. So his poem is a pre-existing form of the democratic norms like Christ. He created a new epic by creating a hero who looked like Christ as a typical figure in the New World.
