It has been about a month and I am about halfway through, and I like it because it allows me to clearly understand the events of the ancient eras from Yao, Shun, Xia, Shang, and Zhou.
I only knew about the ancient era of Yao and Shun from bits and pieces I’d picked up here and there, so it’s great to be able to learn about it through the Book of Documents.
I hope that looking back to the distant past, when people were ordinary and commoners, and examining the struggles and conduct they underwent to survive, will be of help to modern people living in the 21st century who have not changed much.
