I was worried the illustrations might be scary, but my child was fascinated and loved them:) I really love this series of books.
Although it has a hardcover, the inside is made of matte paper, so it wrinkles easily. True to its title, the book is very, very big. Since it features mythical creatures, the appearance of various unexpected legendary characters makes it quite entertaining for my child. However, there are some illustrations that might slightly shatter the childlike innocence. Haha.
