China's 5,000-year history... not only is it difficult to properly understand the stories of that turbulent era, but even while studying history within the context of world history, it was hard to easily grasp every surrounding situation. To be honest, when it comes to Chinese history, the figures from the *Romance of the Three Kingdoms* I read in literary collections, and Qin Shi Huang—who comes to mind when thinking of the Great Wall and the elixir of immortality—are barely all I can recall.
