Description

The book was developed from a research project that Steve Dixon and Barry Smithylessmill, supported by the British Arts Institute for the Study of the Humanities, from 1999 to 2001. Digital Furmens Acabe was founded to record and analyze the time when computer technology and technology were increasingly integrated and engaged in live performances, when new forms of interactive performances appeared on CDDium and the Web. The first announcement, sent in 1999 to the arts and New Media Culture List, sums up the scope of the project:. Ac. /dpa/ - is a research project that records the development of creative computer technology in cyberspace, interactive dramas and webcasts, from live theaters and dance concerts using digital media. DPA also collects examples of expert websites, e-sins, educational CD-miums, and other examples of using computer technology to write, discuss or analyze performances. The DPA wanted to leave behind traces of these work for the latter, since the record and document were unmanageable, although it was at a very high frequency at the time.
