Milton Freedman's contribution to economics, and, indeed, the impact on society in general, is a brief introduction to the world of economic progress.
Stephen E. Landsberg: Essential Milton Friedman
Milton Freedman was one of the most influential economists of all time. He fundamentally changed the way economists think about consumption, about money, about security policies and about unemployment. He clearly made his position on a few simple assumptions about human behavior and then, without fail, showed the effectiveness of pursuing their logical agreements. He developed and taught new ways of interpreting data, and was impressed by their ability to explain the exotic phenomena of revenge. His successes were dazzling, and his techniques were widely copied. But the influence of the Freeman has expanded beyond economic suffocation. For the general public, he was a world-class advocate of economic and personal freedom. In the United States, he helped to end military service, expand educational choices and change the regulating environment. Worldwide, almost every central bank now follows policies based on the insights and recommendations of the Freeman. The book briefly sums up the exceptional contribution of a Freeman to economic theory, economic work, economic policy and ability to read and write.
