Genesis serves as the foundation of the entire Bible, dealing with the beginnings of theology and faith. It addresses the issues of all beginnings, including the creation of the universe, the creation of humanity, the beginning of marriage and the family, the beginning of sin, the beginning of punishment and judgment, the beginning of salvation, the beginning of nations and languages, the beginning of culture and civilization, the beginning of promises and covenants, and so on. Therefore, in order to properly understand and live in this world, we must know God, who created and provides for this world, and understand the principles and order that exist in the world He made. Even more so, we must understand what kind of beings humanity is. Genesis is important because it offers answers to these fundamental questions. However, the author, realizing that Genesis is not an incomprehensible book, wrote this book after years of research, feeling the need for lecture notes that laypeople can easily understand. Therefore, this book will be helpful not only to lay seminary students who wish to approach the content of Genesis more easily, but also to pastors preparing lectures on Genesis tailored to the level of laypeople.
