This is an honest review written after I received the book from the publisher and read it myself. This is Siwon School IELTS Past-Test Vocabulary, for IELTS preparation. IELTS is an internationally recognized English proficiency test created to assess the English skills needed for study, immigration, and employment. It is jointly administered by the British Council, IDP Australia, and the University of Cambridge. Most universities around the world, including those in the UK, Australia, New
“The publisher provided this book, which I read myself before writing this review.” Lately, while looking into certifications besides TOEIC, I became interested in IELTS too. I had only been interested in OPIc and TOEIC Speaking besides TOEIC, and I assumed other English tests must be certifications needed somewhere. When I looked into IELTS, I found that it is for study-abroad English. I do not plan to study abroad right now, but I thought I might need it someday, so I took a look at an IELTS
Note: The publisher provided this book, which may help with IELTS preparation. I wrote this post from my personal perspective. I cannot remember exactly when I started liking English. In a way, I was born in a city full of rather naive people—or, to put it kindly, people who had not yet been jaded—and grew up among them. In a place where I might see a foreigner once a month, if that, any foreigner who appeared in front of me inevitably became the target of my stalking (?). I could not bring
This is a personal review written after the publisher provided the book. I am not specifically preparing for IELTS, but since I am studying English conversation, I was curious about the kinds of words that appear on study-abroad English exams and decided to try a textbook from the very well-known Siwon School.com. Since it analyzes 26 years of past-test materials from 2001 and reflects trends from the latest five years, I think it will be a great help to people actually taking a study-abroad
I received this book from Gold and S, the publisher of Siwon School.com, through the Chaek and Tree review group, read it myself, and wrote this post without help from artificial intelligence, using my own head and heart. When I watch online lectures for TOEIC study, there is one thing I hear over and over: improve your vocabulary. Vocabulary, or words, cannot be built in a short time; you have to hone it through effort. As I gradually feel and realize while studying for TOEIC, it is the
This is my personal review for a review event. Anyone who works a full-time job has probably heard of the IELTS English test at least once. One of the most daunting parts of preparing for IELTS was figuring out how to memorize a huge amount of vocabulary efficiently. Learning many words is important, but understanding how they are actually used on the test felt even harder. Siwon School IELTS Past-Test Vocabulary struck me as a good textbook for test takers with this concern. Rather than simply

IELTS is a test that especially interests students preparing to study abroad, particularly in the UK. Students who already have a solid vocabulary and can adapt to any test, whether TOEFL or IELTS, have less need to study a separate IELTS vocabulary book. But students just starting IELTS or those who need to raise their scores substantially in a short time have ample reason to study with a book like this one, which focuses on vocabulary specific to IELTS. (I read a book provided by the
Even someone from a fairly old generation like me studied English for six years in middle and high school as part of formal education, four years in college, and for more than ten years afterward to earn scores for employment. Now the purpose of studying English has become unclear, and since I do not use it at work, even words I had memorized are growing hazy. That must show that learning out of necessity is still learning, after all. This book is for studying past-test vocabulary and other
Siwon School Language Institute: Siwon School IELTS Past Exam Vocabulary
IELTS scores are proportional to vocabulary skills! You need to know a lot of vocabulary to get a good score on an English test. With a strong vocabulary foundation, you can solve even very difficult English questions. The same is true of IELTS. In particular, unlike other tests, IELTS reflects the rapidly changing realities of modern life, yet it is hard to find a specialized IELTS vocabulary book that reflects such current content. Based on accumulated past test materials from the early days of IELTS in 2001 through recent years, this book analyzes the latest test trends and compiles the vocabulary and information needed to get the answers right. In particular, it reveals all the past-test points related to the answers so learners can be ready to raise their scores right away in the actual test. The second point is to master IELTS with the words and collocations that are sure to appear on the test. In the Listening and Reading sections, headwords are organized around words that appeared on actual tests, and the book explains how each word appears in passages in collocations with other words. Most of all, the Writing and Speaking sections place greater emphasis on collocations, presenting test-ready collocations as headwords organized by topic and allowing learners to test themselves briefly with example sentences.
