It requires more background knowledge than I expected. I barely managed to read Greek and Roman mythology, and I got intimidated after reading Chapter 1 of Volume 1… I estimate it will take me three years to finish this after improving my skills by reading other books to understand it. *Shivers*
I just received it and noticed it is a small paperback. The font is small, so I don't think it would be very comfortable to read for someone a bit older like me. There are a lot of images, but they are correspondingly small. If this bothers you, I recommend purchasing the larger hardcover edition, the Hankyoreh edition. I read a few pages as soon as I got it, and it reads well. The translation seems to be well done.
