Allergies are diseases whose prevalence is rapidly increasing across all age groups worldwide as human lifestyles become more civilized. In particular, the growth rate of representative allergic diseases such as bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis is so pronounced that it is no longer difficult to encounter patients with these conditions. The suffering caused by these common allergic diseases not only significantly reduces the quality of life but also incurs enormous socio-economic costs. Consequently, interest in allergic diseases is gradually increasing, and this trend is expected to become increasingly prominent in the future. However, despite continuous advancements in immunology and systematic research on allergic diseases up to the present, Western medicine has yet to provide clear solutions regarding their causes, aggravating factors, treatments, and prognoses. Clinically, most allergic diseases are regarded as intractable conditions characterized by recurring recurrence and a chronic course. Based on the clinical experiences and research results of both Korean and Western medicine regarding basic allergic diseases, this book aims to facilitate a comprehensive understanding and application of both Korean and Western medical approaches by clearly organizing and systematizing clinical management methods for each allergic condition.
