Seoul National University School of Dentistry: The 100-Year History of Dental Education in Korea

2022 is 100 years since the official beginning of dental education on the land. The first regular dental training was started in the schools of the S.A.R. in 1922 and led to the School of Scleroderma, the University of Longitude, and developed a pre-elected dentist in the difficult times of first-term grades. Since liberation, through the chaos of the Korean War, South Korean dentistry has been reached with a number of efforts to continue to spread and develop dentistry. The book reviews the history and the success of Korean dentistry today, which has been based on the history of people who have contributed to their nation and society through dentistry. At the same time, we look at the future capacity of our own dental system to be more likely. The University of Seoul School of Dental Medicine, the first school in our country to start dental education, was the only institution in our nation to produce dentists for about 50 years after school, and has since been central to our medical community with numerous human resources. Despite the many challenges that have been faced in the last 100 years of the history of the University of Seoul’s School of Dental Medicine, starting with a school for S.A.D., the dentistry has developed in Korea with the help of many people. The most significant thing is to look back and see the way ahead of you. And to look back and leave behind the process of dental education will be a way to continue to transfer and develop dentistry.
