Sam Harris: A few things God can never answer
A few of the things that he never can answer are books on how to understand moral truth in the context of science. I think science cannot answer questions about what is good and bad and right and wrong. Because they think it is a matter of value. But Sam Harris argues that science can be a basis for moral questions in this book that teach us what constitutes a good life and values for humans. The obvious harms of forced veils, female circumcision, are being rationalized by the name ‘cultural relativism.’. The author says that when we start to ‘ tolerate ’ moral differences intelligently, based on cultural relativistic views, we are not allowed to have compassion and thus fail to grasp the nature of the situation. Stressing that each person has different moral rules, but each has its own universality behind them, the'moral socialization' is a more balanced position in a society where both extremes are deep.
