Moral education, which serves as the core of character education, is of immense importance as it aims to foster the formation of desirable character in students and cultivate emotionally and socially healthy individuals. Therefore, effective moral education requires teaching methods that remain faithful to human instincts, where reason and emotion coexist. Masterpieces that have endured to this day can be considered products of their time, as they were created by the people of that era. By actively incorporating these masterpieces—which contain numerous narratives involving characters and events—into moral lessons and conducting classes that harmonize with aesthetic experiences, more beneficial lessons for students can be achieved. In particular, presenting masterpieces to students who are accustomed to visual materials can draw their attention from the very beginning of the lesson, serving as attractive learning resources. Furthermore, by utilizing masterpieces throughout the lesson—not just in the introduction but also in its progression—students can naturally internalize moral values and virtues through the process of sharing thoughts and experiences between the teacher and students, as well as among the students themselves. Accordingly, a lesson plan was designed focusing on moral education that warms both the mind and the heart, by selecting masterpieces that allow for encounters with moral values and virtues.
