Description

A Brain Encyclopedia by DK Publishers in the UK. This book introduces almost every topic related to the brain—including its structure, function, and diseases—through hundreds of stunning photographs and illustrations. It covers cutting-edge technologies such as brain implants and deep brain stimulation, as well as recent research findings on how memory works and the extensive changes that occur in the brain during childhood. Winner of the British Medical Association Book Award in the Atlas category, this book utilizes the latest imaging technologies, including 3D stereoscopic images and brain MRI scans, to present anatomical structures in astonishing detail, making the complex functions of the brain easy to understand step-by-step. In particular, the 20 consecutive MRI scan images found only in this book will make readers feel as though they are exploring the inside of the brain. Furthermore, it analyzes over 50 major brain diseases and dysfunctions, ranging from Alzheimer's disease to cerebral hemorrhage and anxiety disorders, examining their patterns and causes. This is a verified book created by a team of brain experts and award-winning science journalists from the Medical Journalists Association. It is a global bestseller that has been consistently updated from its first edition in 2009 to its third revised edition in 2019, translated and published in 22 countries, and has achieved cumulative worldwide sales of 370,000 copies. It can be considered an essential general knowledge book for not only neuroscience and anatomy experts and students in related fields, but also for anyone seeking to understand the brain more scientifically and in-depth than what is presented in the mass media.

I purchased this to understand CT scans of the brain. It was nice to have multiple images displayed at once, but it wasn't of much help to someone who has already looked up a lot of information. It would likely be very helpful for someone encountering the brain for the first time.

This is a medical book about the brain. It explains the nervous system, facial features, and brain-related diseases in a way that is easy for the general public to read and understand, and the color photos also aid in comprehension. It is a good medical book.

Why and how does the brain malfunction? While a high intelligence quotient (IQ) is generally an advantage, it is also associated with mental illness. Research on Mensa members revealed that they experienced mental problems at a much higher rate than the general population. According to the study, a high IQ is a signal that the brain is overactive, which can lead to mental instability. (Page 168) People with high intelligence or creativity are sometimes associated with mental illness. I had only

Of all the organs in the human body, the brain was the last to have its secrets revealed. For a long time, humanity did not even know the functions of the brain. The process of discovering the form and function of the brain was a long journey spanning over a thousand years. The brain is the most complex organ in the human body, and the nervous system is likely the most complex system known to humankind. Inside the human brain, billions of neurons are constantly exchanging signals. These signals

This book is closer to a medical text. It would be appropriate to call it an encyclopedia of the brain. However, it is explained in an easy-to-understand manner so that even ordinary people can read it at least once. Terms we often hear about while reading—such as 'mirror neurons,' 'Broca's area,' 'Wernicke's area,' intelligence, the brains of men and women, brain aging, Down syndrome, and depression—are all phenomena caused by the brain. Therefore, if you read this book at a leisurely pace, it
