Research Institute for Electronic Buddhist Cultural Contents: Modern and Contemporary Korean Buddhism Through Photographs Set 1 & 2
“Photos are a clear medium that preserves past history and re-informeds the present. Meanwhile, Buddhist culture researchers did not value photography as a whole of Buddhist culture. But we can see the forgotten scene in modern Buddhist history, the change in cultural materials, the movement and restoration process, and the simple life-forms of anonymous Sons. So in this picture, there's a history and culture that implies space and time, regardless of the intention of the photographer. This book, which was collected in five years through the Project Acabe, South Korea's Modern Buddhist Cultural Photos, has been divided into two major books: First and Second, 1950s and 1970s. I hope that the next rare collection of modern Buddhist photographs will be released to the world and will help improve the study of Buddhist culture through photography.
