I have long enjoyed Hyeonsil Life on YouTube. I bought the book to help with interior design and plan to read slowly and apply its ideas one by one.
As household items took over my space, I kept postponing organizing, making excuses like the author describes: too little space, too much stuff, no time. Her practical advice and encouragement make tidying feel achievable. She covers kitchens and refrigerators, closets, tangled cords, and storage using common recyclables such as bottles, shopping bags, and milk cartons. It is realistic storage advice. On page 41 she says arranging even a small home to fit the space leads to little tricks that
Seeing a cluttered home, chaotic fridge, and clothes everywhere changed my belief that only expensive storage furniture could help. This is a thrifty, practical organizing guide you can use right away!
I subscribe to Hyeonsil Life by Hoomom, so bought the book as soon as it appeared. I’m pretty good at housekeeping, but her know-how is exceptional. Her explanations are easy to follow, and the methods need no fancy equipment. The channel’s clever ideas are fun. Since the routines weren’t second nature, I used to find her videos while organizing or cleaning. Now the book is a treasure. Following Hoomom and seeing my home become tidy makes me proud. Highly recommend it as a housekeeping book.
Real Life Kim Mi-yeon: Realistic storage solutions you can start today instead of expensive interior renovations
This practical guide offers realistic housekeeping, organizing, storage, and maintenance advice from Hyeonsil Life, a creator and homemaker with 20 years’ experience, rather than merely picture-perfect rooms. She grew up in a single room but remembers no discomfort thanks to her capable mother. Friends praised her housekeeping after marriage, and she became an organizing expert. She began her YouTube channel to show people with little space or money and too much stuff the satisfaction of organizing. In an unpretentious home like the one next door, she shares affordable methods anyone can follow. Her channel grew among viewers seeking practical advice, not fantasy. Having studied interior architecture, she emphasizes that storage is interior design, too: good storage makes small rooms look larger and messy rooms neat, with a transformation more striking than an expensive renovation.
