It is a detailed commentary on the whole stream of Matthew. There are benefits to be seen in the forest first and to guide us to understand the trees. If his Matthew theology were translated, it would be a golden crown. If the price is worth the reader, then it's more likely to buy.
Matthew's ideas are well-organized and better considered in a true way.
R. T. France: NICNT Matthew
D. A. The book, which Carson also introduced as the best Matthew comments, is a commentary on the results of his lifetime of teaching and studying and meditating on Matthew’s Gospel after he retired. As the author explains in his introduction, it is not the “explanations of the commentary” that this book was written for the commentary of Matthew, but it is the main work that makes the text of Matthew so easy to understand by the layman. So he focused on giving the Gospel of Matthew its status, and the subject of the prior text was only at the critical level necessary to bring out the text, such as data and synthesies. But it was also given sufficient understanding of the social, political, cultural, economic, religious and natural circumstances of the time of Jesus ’ activity and Matthew’s Gospel writing. The author believes that Matthew's Gospel is geographically composed of two distant regions of Galilee and Judea as a cattle. The Judea where the city of Jerusalem was in was but a place of disaster that brought death to the prophet from Galilee, and so Mark ended up looking forward to the restoration and a new beginning of Galilee, but Matthew further elaborated on it. Matthew’s Gospel contains quite a few direct and indirect quotations about the Old Testament. This proves that the Old Testament was fulfilled in Jesus, so that he could understand the Gospel of Matthew faithfully by considering all the points, such as whether Matthew used a 70-person text, his relationship to the Old-Khite message, and the interpretation of cases where it was not quoted.
