Patricia M. Lyons: What is evangelism?

People are burdened, or rejected, by the word ‘ preach. ’. Because it's a homework that Christians cannot solve, and it feels like a burden and a nuisance to non-believers. But the idea of preaching is not to recite Christian doctrine and history to someone, as we think it is, and to lead a person who has been moved by that statement to church. A nice church building, a plausible theology, doesn't make a few people come to the church. Instead, people who come to church soon become disappointed and leave. If the evangelize is not something we can do with our efforts, what should we do about it? What is the actual conduct? It's not what we do, it's what God does. This book kindly tells us how we can be together and how God uses us in his preaching work.
