Description

A technique for improving your ability to grasp the key point—and winning overwhelmingly in every competition! Author Park Seong-hu says, “Writing is a person.” It may sound like a cliché, but it is an insight he gained after overcoming pain that nearly led him to give up on life. He wandered through 13 different jobs without finding hope, then read more than 3,000 books through his own approach to reading and led his life toward happiness and success. It was possible because he could meet people and great life mentors in books. If you could meet and learn from 100 experts who have already become legends at the highest level you hope to reach, your chances of success would be very high. But it’s hard to find a way to do that, even for someone who can spend as much time and money as needed. The author advises you to head first to the shelves of a bookstore. There you’ll find rows of books in which the world’s leading experts have carefully explained the specialized know-how you want so much to learn. The author emphasizes that the essence of reading is meeting mentors in the fields you want to pursue. Once you’ve chosen a book that serves your purpose, the question remains: how should you read it? The author says the results achieved by good readers and poor readers can differ as much as those of professionals and amateurs. Common reasons people read poorly are, first, that they read too slowly and, second, that they can’t maintain their concentration. They also fail to remember what they read or apply it appropriately in their lives.

The introduction is too long and keeps saying things like “I’m not sure,” while there is more rambling than practical advice. For example, it says not to subvocalize, but it should explain how to stop subvocalizing. It is disappointing that it offers no such method.

Focus Reading is a self-help book that presents an excellent way to read. The most common obstacle to reading for people today—or rather, the excuse—is “not enough time.” If you cannot read because you are short on time, Focus Reading can help you overcome that. The author says reading has the power to change our lives and that we can achieve our life goals through Focus Reading, an innovative approach to reading. The book explains what Focus Reading is, why it matters, and exactly how to do

People who read often and enjoy it naturally become interested in different ways to read. I am the same. I fell in love with books while working at my university library, and I have read several books a year ever since. I am now in graduate school, so I have to read papers and textbooks constantly. When I saw the title Focus Reading, I was excited to learn what new reading method this book might teach me. The author says Focus Reading is suited to business, economics, and practical books, but

When someone I know wants to make a change, the first thing I want to recommend is reading. Reading opens up endless possibilities for changing yourself. But before you gain knowledge by reading a lot, there is something I especially want to tell you: be sure to assess your reading ability. Reading itself matters, but examining and critically evaluating how you read right now can lead to better results. Park Seong-hu, the author of Focus Reading, has devoted a great deal of effort to helping

Reading speed is an important factor in absorbing and using information from books. That is why many authors of books about speed reading offer their own ways to read quickly. I have introduced speed-reading methods several times on the Naver blog “Aropa’s Book Bread.” I have also covered The New Speed-Reading Method (by Eiji Saito, published by Alpha Media in July 2021) and The Super-Differential Reading Method of the Rich (by Masaaki Kaioka, published by Ssam & Parkers in December 2021),

#FocusReading #Fast #Accurate #ReadTheEssentials. Reading speed matters more than IQ. Read quickly and you will always win. Read faster and more accurately. Focus Reading is the most efficient way to learn this simple skill in the shortest time. The techniques in this book

Schopenhauer once said, “The body grows on food, but the mind grows on words.” I agree, and I believe reading quality writing matters. I pile up books I want to read, but when I cannot get through them as quickly as I hoped, I feel frustrated and stressed. I do not think reading should be stressful, so I wanted to change that. The subtitle of this book is Read the Essentials Faster and More Accurately, and it caught my eye because it spoke to where I am now. I picked it up hoping to learn how

Read faster and more accurately. Capture the essential 1%, and the other 99% will follow. Read with a clear sense of purpose. This book made me wonder whether the way I had been reading all along was pointless. If you want to read quickly and efficiently, I highly recommend it. The book teaches you how to read, including practical guidance on how to apply what you read. It is not simply a book about speed-reading techniques; it presents efficient ways to read effectively, along with goals and

For anyone who wants to read books quickly and accurately: Some people read books as if they were scanning them. At first I thought that was something you saw only in movies or martial arts novels, but it turns out such people really exist. I decided to finish this book at the hair salon, and I read it during the four hours it took to get my hair done. That is hardly a short time. The salon owner asked me about the book and told me about an accountant she knows. Apparently, that friend flips
