It seems to be a soft, gentle statement that the Middle Ages were not confined to mere religious beliefs, but to the medieval philosophers.
Park Nam-hee et al.: Medieval Philosophy for Beginners
The Western Middle Ages are often described as the Age of Darkness or the Age for Intelligible ‘Smallness.’. The prejudice that the authority of the church has suppressed reason and that all science has been involved in theology, and that it has not developed mentally or culturally, has made medieval philosophy relatively out of place in Western philosophy. Because it's not unusual to see Plato and Aristotle, as they move from ancient philosophy to modern, Dekart philosophy, naturally rule out medieval philosophy. But even in the Middle Ages, there were people who were thinking about the world and life, and there was philosophy. But because there were not many domestic studies to understand medieval philosophy, we had limits on why ancient thought was turned into a religious era of the Middle Ages and why modernism moved into another time. This is a systematic document that introduces the main reasons for medieval philosophy, which has been relatively uninterested and poorly studied in the country. I wanted to help my readers by using the form of the talk, the core concepts of 14 major medieval philosophers, from Flortinus, Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Occom, and Kuzanus. Especially did the writers not simply introduce hard and profound reasons, but they wanted to give us a ‘meet ’ that could solve problems in our society that would be guided by their philosophical reasoning. Now, the reason we read medieval philosophy is not just to restore humanity at a religious level, but to find its limitations and direction in the AI era, which has been destroyed by technological civilization.
