Park Hee-Sam, author of the book, is one of the leading scholars in the classical Korean literature, and for nearly 40 years taught Korean classical literature in college. But when we abandon those approaches and look at the joys and anguishs of the literary people, their ideals and dreams and frustrations, their aspirations, their values that they have not given up in a hard life, they appear to us in a completely different way. If I turn my eyes to the lives of people in literature, I find that Korean classical literature is connected to my life now and is gaining its present meaning.
