Park Hae-young: Make the church the church

“What kind of church should a church planter plant?” “For whom should the church be planted?” “Why should a church be planted?” “How should a church be planted?” “What kind of church should the planted churches develop into?” These are questions that every pastor asks. During the 32 years that Missionary Park Hae-young dedicated himself as a missionary in Spain and Mongolia, the question that never left his mind was also, “Where lies the path to establishing a church that is self-reliant, autonomous, and self-sustaining, led by local residents—that is, the lay people?” He addresses this challenge through the harmony between the church and the mission society, a church that meets the needs of the local community, and a systematic lay training system.
