Nam Ki-taek et al.: White Bear Psychology in the Classroom
Have you heard of ACceptance-responsive therapy? The "resistant-dependance treatment" is a psychological approach that helps us to use our time and power to avoid or eliminate negative internal experiences, such as uncomfortable thoughts, emotions and memories, to live our lives at this moment. ‘ The more I try not to think of a white bear, the more often I think of it. In the White Bear Experiment, it tells us that it is wise to hug yourself warmly and not blame yourself in a painful moment because emotions and thoughts are not something you can suppress or avoid with will and ability. Not only do we have to be insecure or depressed, but we can live our lives in the right direction, even if we are anxious or depressed. This book contains the author's experience of applying the acceptance-degrees therapy that we studied in our classroom, which is a "ACT expert's course" at the CCAPC treatment lab. I've been planning to introduce a method of counseling that can help teachers who are having trouble at school. It was not a professional therapy book, but a psychological education that helped me to share my experience with my colleagues in the study of reservation-desponsive therapy. We're going to try to show teachers and students at school how to use the'resistivation-degressive treatment' to help them embrace their feelings and act on values and goals that they think are important.
