Most existing introductory textbooks on education take the form of edited texts where four to seven professors specializing in education concisely describe content from various sub-areas—such as educational philosophy, educational psychology, curriculum, teaching and learning methodology, and educational administration—with their respective fields of expertise. For this reason, these existing textbooks are difficult to understand. Rather than serving as a aid to studying specific topics, the situation is such that one must study the specific topics first to understand the introduction. Therefore, there is a need for an introductory textbook that is easy to read yet allows one to grasp the logical flow of the entire field of education after a single reading.
