Mok Young-hae: A Simple and Concise History of Eastern Educational Thought

For nearly 40 years, there has been no *History of Eastern Educational Thought* written by a Korean scholar that encompasses Confucian, Taoist, and Buddhist thought. Accordingly, the author decided to conclude his long tenure as a university professor by publishing a proper *History of Eastern Educational Thought* and began writing. Two principles were established for this writing: one was to write it "easy and concisely" so that even students or the general public encountering Eastern thought for the first time could understand it, and the other was to "include content on the points of contact with cutting-edge Western thought" so that the modern relevance of Eastern thought could be recognized.
