Miroslav Volf: Human prosperity

The word "prosperity" represents three closely intertwined concepts: a life lived well, a life that goes smoothly, and a life that feels good. In *Human Flourishing*, it is used interchangeably with the terms "good life" and "valuable life." In this way, Miroslav Volf argues that we can truly prosper in the mundane realm only when we acknowledge the priority of the transcendental realm and integrate it into our lives. Furthermore, shedding light on the relationship between world religions and globalization, he presupposes a structural ambivalence in this relationship and proposes evaluating current globalization by the religious standard of a good life, without demonizing or sanctifying it. He goes on to suggest that the internal elements of world religions can lead people to reconciliation and that we need a new vision of prosperity for a better future for the planet.
